| Ah
yes, the all-important transportation matter |
| How many of us, like
our Tiit, fondly remember their first cars ... Alas, some boys' toys ultimately get sacrificed to progress and the lack of the almighty $$$$ |

| Now, we all know who
owned this sweet little coupe, another fond first car ... |
According to its loving owner, Rick
rescued his little '34 Ford coupe from his grandfather's farm where it
was enjoying a bucolic retirement pulling stumps out of fields.
He and Ron Davis "worked" on it in Rick's garage for about a year until
they were old enough to get a driver's licence. Then it was "look
out worrrrld!". They drove it to school daily in '58 and even
took it on fishing trips with an 8 ft dinghy tied on the roof! It
faithfully transported its owner to UBC in '59, suffering from a
bit of neglect owing to a time conflict between academic homework and
automotive mechanics 101. Ultimately it came to an untimely
demise in 1960 after being involved in a fender bender that winter, and
was retired permanently. |

| Then there were those
of us who opted for a more traditional form of transport ... Just feed him some hay and he'd take you anywhere. |
